We are seeking a Financial Analyst who will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer to support our expanding cannabis operations in Illinois. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow with the company. Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and bookkeeping assistance to the accounting team
  • Verify and reconcile banking transactions; conduct weekly and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Match, code and enter vendor invoices
  • Cross departmental communication including follow-up on invoices, expenses, and other transaction details
  • Assist with month-end close and other operational accounting processes: Bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, T&E expenses, and sales reconciliations
  • Process daily payments and collections; perform monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with documenting business processes and accounting policies and Assist with the continuous improvement of processes as the company expands
  • Develop SOPs for the Accounting/Finance department
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant accounting standards in all financial activities
  • Assist with ad-hoc accounts receivable reports, balance due collections efforts, and process accounts payable transactions.
  • Maintain organized and detailed financial records for internal and external reporting purposes
  • Independently handle State requests or other tasks or communications related to regulatory compliance
  • Visibility into confidential files

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance
  • 2-4 years of previous accounting experience
  • Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Available for occasional in-person business needs, but will otherwise work fully remote
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Must have a solid understanding of accounting concepts and basic accounting fundamentals: GAAP, general ledgers, financial accounting statements, P&L statements
  • 2-5 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum 2 years experience working daily in Quickbooks
  • Previous cannabis experience preferred
  • Proficiency with 280e
