Senior Manager/Supervisor

We are seeking a Director of Retail Operations to lead and manage the operational aspects of our multi-unit dispensary network across Illinois. This strategic role focuses on the operationalization of new dispensaries and the enhancement of existing ones by streamlining operations and maximizing revenue. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering compliance, efficiency, and profitability across all retail locations.


  • Oversee the launch and day-to-day operations of up to six dispensaries, ensuring they operate in full compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, internal processes, and compliance training tailored to the cannabis retail environment.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of retail operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management to ensure profitability and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Conduct regular internal audits, develop corrective action plans, and prepare for inspections and regulatory reviews.
  • Manage inventory practices across all locations, utilizing seed-to-sale software programs (BioTrack, METRC, etc) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and local agencies, negotiating contracts that benefit the organization.
  • Work closely with the purchasing and marketing departments to implement successful promotions and other marketing initiatives that drive foot traffic and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align retail operations with corporate strategies, optimizing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, train, and lead retail management teams, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance.
  • Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of training programs for all retail staff, focusing on compliance, sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for retail operations, including sales targets, operational costs, and customer engagement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of retail operations management staff, providing feedback and developmental support to foster a high-performing team.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes, adapting business strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with other directors and senior leaders to roll out company-wide and improve overall business practices.
